The injection mold polishing has two purposes; one is to increase the finish of the mold, so that the surface of the product from the mold is smooth, beautiful, and beautiful, and the other is that the mold can be easily demolded, so that the plastic is not stuck on the mold and cannot be taken off. .
The matters needing attention in the injection mold polishing are as follows:
(1) When a new mold cavity starts to be processed, the surface of the work piece should be inspected first, and the surface should be cleaned with kerosene so that the oil stone surface will not stick to dirt and lose the cutting function.
(2) When researching coarse grains, it should be carried out in the order of difficulty first and then easy, especially for the dead corners that are difficult to research, the deeper bottom should be researched first.
(3) Some workpieces may have multiple pieces grouped together to grind them. First, the rough or fire patterns of a single workpiece should be separately studied, and then all the pieces should be ground together to smooth.
(4) Workpieces with large planes or side planes should be roughened with oil stone and then inspected with straight steel sheets to check whether there are any irregularities or undercuts. Difficult demoulding of parts or strained parts.
(5) In order to avoid paying attention to the situation where the mold workpiece is developed with undercuts or there are some bonding surfaces that need to be protected, you can use a saw blade to paste or use sandpaper to affix the edge, so that you can get the ideal protection effect.
(6) Grind the mold surface by pulling it back and forth, and drag the handle of the whetstone as flat as possible, not to exceed 25°; because the slope is too large, the force is rushed from the top to the bottom, which easily leads to the development of many rough lines on the workpiece.
(7) If the plane of the workpiece is polished with copper or bamboo pressed against sandpaper, the sandpaper should not be larger than the area of the tool, otherwise it will grind to the place where it should not be grinded.
(8) The shape of the grinding tool should be close to the surface shape of the mold, so as to ensure that the workpiece is not deformed by grinding. If you do the above points well, the polished appearance of the injection mold will be very beautiful.
